Mapleton Falls. At Mapleton Falls, Pencil Creek cascades 120 metres over an escarpment. From the carpark, enjoy a short walk to Mapleton Falls lookout (wheelchair access to toilet and lookout). The panoramic view takes in the waterfall, rainforest valley and Obi Obi Valley. Location: Obi Obi Road, west of Mapleton.

This is probably the most family-friendly waterfall in South East Queensland. A bitumen path follows Obi Obi Creek, with small waterfalls and swimming holes along the way. At the end of the track is a large waterfall which you can wade through the ankle-deep water to view from above, or follow a dirt track for 30 metres to see it from below.

Jul 2021. A solid walk and even a steady walk to the picnic area, we were glad we had not decided to have a picnic as the noise pollution from the nearby hotel, destroyed the serenity of the park. Their live music hear in the park was garbled words and the base, driving birds and animals away. It could be still heard past the first waterfall.
